Kragon

Prehistoric site 15Br9 is a multi-component archaeological site located on a sharp bend in the North Fork River at Kragon about five miles south of Jackson....

"The test excavations exposed several types of pit features and the post mold pattern for a rectangular structure. Recovered cultural materials, including preserved floral and faunal material suggest that this site was occupied during the Woodland and Fort Ancient Periods.” (1000 B.C. to 1200 A.D.)

“The presence of undisturbed cultural features containing preserved organic materials and human burials suggests that this site possesses high research potential and is significant with respect to criteria for inclusion in the National Register of Historic Places." (McIlhany Report Page 1 abstract, 1991)
